Every year, on the third weekend of November, the Beaujolais region comes alive with one of France’s most joyful traditions: the arrival of Beaujolais Nouveau. I had the pleasure of experiencing this festive weekend right where it all happens — among passionate winemakers, picturesque villages, and thousands of visitors who come to celebrate the new vintage.
Open-Cellar Tastings With Local Winemakers

Throughout the weekend, local winemakers throw open their cellar doors to welcome visitors into the warmth of their estates. We enjoyed unforgettable tastings at some of our favorite producers, including #devermontyannick, #domainesaintsorlin and #manufellot, where families and friends gathered to sample the year’s first wine, meet the vignerons, and share stories around generous platters of local charcuterie and goat cheese from local farm.
The atmosphere was friendly, authentic, and full of the pride that these producers pour into their craft.
Festivities at Vaux en Beaujolais #cavedeclochemerle

The celebrations continued in Clochemerle, known for its charming village square and lively community spirit. The local wine cellar hosted an evening full of music, laughter, and regional dishes. Musicians filled the air with upbeat rhythms while visitors toasted to the new vintage under the glow of festive lights. It was a true French countryside celebration — simple, joyful, and unforgettable.
The Beaujolais Marathon: A Record-Breaking Edition

This year’s Marathon du Beaujolais was nothing short of spectacular. The event continues to grow, now attracting over 30,000 participants from around the world. Runners, many in costumes, dashed through rolling vineyards, lively villages, and wine stations offering tastings along the way — yes, only in Beaujolais!
Meanwhile, the Beaujolais Trail passed through our beautiful village, offering runners a breathtaking panoramic route. The circuit wound through hillsides covered with vines, forests offering sweeping views that perfectly showcased the beauty of the region.
Hats off to the race organizers for their outstanding work and flawless logistics. Their efforts allow participants to enjoy not just a race, but a unique cultural adventure through one of France’s most iconic wine regions.
